Is a shared mailer worth it for you?

Try the free calculator. See how many new customers could pay for your ad.

The worksheet is a blank one-page sheet you fill in by hand.

The numbers below are an example. Change them to your own.

1Who do you sell to?

Who buys from you?
Our card goes to homes.
Can you serve homes in the mail area?
Ask us if you need help with the area.

2Add your numbers

Use the price of one job or sale, in dollars.
Example$500 paid− $300 for parts, supplies, and pay for the work= $200 left in your pocket from this job
Put in what is left after those job costs. Do not take out the ad cost yet.

Uses 10,000 homes, 1% replies, and 1 in 10 replies buying. These are guesses. You can change them below.

Want to change the plan?
Ask us to check the home count for your area.
We start at 1%. That means 1 in 100 homes. You can change it. It is a guess, not a promise.
We start at 10%. That means 1 in 10 people who reach out buys. Change it if you know your own number.

Try a Small ad first

Your plan pays for the $350 Small ad. Start small. See what works before you spend more.

First: What do you keep from each customer?

One customer pays you$500.00
Take out the job costs− $300.00
You have left from one job$200.00

We use this money to see how many jobs pay for the ad.

Next: How many customers pay for the ad?

A Small ad costs $350.

2 new customersto get your $350 ad money back
2 customers × $200.00 each$400.00
Pay for the Small ad− $350
Left after paying for the ad$50.00

This is just to get your ad money back.

Then: What if more people buy?

If 10,000 homes get the card, and 1% reach out, that is 100 replies. If 10% of those people buy, that would mean 10 new customers. Let’s see what that would leave you.

10 customers × $200.00 each$2,000.00
Pay for the Small ad− $350
$1,650.00could be left after 10 customers and the $350 ad

This is what could happen. It is not a promise. You may still have bills and taxes to pay.

Pick “Save as PDF” in the print box.

Small$350.002$1,650.00
Medium$600.003$1,400.00
Large$1,000.005$1,000.00

All three sizes go to the same homes. A big ad has more space. We cannot promise it will bring more sales.

If fewer people call

If only half as many people reach out, the plan shows 5 customers. They would leave $1,000.00 after job costs. Take out the $350 ad. You could have $650.00 left.

You could also get no sales. Only spend what you can afford to test.

Why start at 1%?

It makes the math easy. It is not a promise. Your ad may get more replies or fewer replies.

Some articles say mail gets a 4.4% reply rate. That is about 4 in 100 people. Those studies cover other kinds of mail too. They do not tell us how your ad on our card will do.

See how mail can help

These links open in a new tab. They show how mail can reach people at home. They do not promise sales from your ad.

This is a plan, not a promise. We count replies to your ad, not replies to the whole card. A scan or a click is not a sale. Use a buy rate that matches the type of reply you count.

“Money left” means sales less the job costs you gave us and the ad price. You may still have bills and taxes to pay. Sales that happen later do not pay today's bills.

We round the number of customers needed up to a whole person. The plan may show part of a customer. That is just how the math works. Small is the first test we suggest when the plan pays for it. Check the area and your numbers before you buy.
